Students will explore the foundation of art such as color theory, composition, art elements, and design principles. Using Art History as an inspiration, students will gain an understanding of a variety of materials and techniques. Students are required to obtain all materials needed to complete the class, most materials will be "found at home" items. Students will receive a materials list prior to the beginning of class. Materials list will include, but is not limited to, paper, markers, pencil and sharpies. Ages: 12-17
In this class, students will learn how to format and compose high school level five paragraph essays. The class will focus on: choosing and narrowing topics, composing thesis statements, formatting paragraphs based on function within the essay, and presenting materials aloud. Students will produce two essays: one informative and one persuasive. Ages 12-17
Homeschooling can be a bit of a mystery, especially in a pandemic! In this course you will start at the beginning, delving into the history of homeschooling and examining its status today in all 50 states. As you discover what you need to know to home school your children, You'll see how this choice can provide unique opportunities to teach valuable life skills, build long-lasting and productive relationships with peers and adults. Learning about the many options will help you make informed decisions about what will work best for your family. This is a 6-week, 24 hour self paced online course. This course is offered in partnership with ed2go. Payment in full is due at registration. Not eligible for payment plans, waivers or scholarships.
This class provides an introduction to pastels as a drawing and painting medium. Students will learn about the different types of pastels, how to use pastels as a drawing medium and as a painting medium. Students will create a pastel drawing and a pastel painting using their own photo references or from their own still life set up. Students are required to obtain all materials needed to complete the class, most materials will be "found at home" items. Students will receive a materials list prior to the beginning of class. Materials list will include, but is not limited to, paper, pastel pencils, pastel paint, etc. Ages: 12-17
In this class, students will participate in structured activities that help develop muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and agility. The class teaches a variety of body weight exercises in a small group, online environment. Ages: 12-17
