Mid-level CLT Certificate - is designed to provide students with mid-level technical knowledge of the world of supply chain logistics. This course covers the material handling aspect of the global supply chain and describes the mid-level technical knowledge that front-line material handling workers should master to perform well. It is designed to give students more practical insight into the industry and how the frontline worker fits into that environment. This course covers topics such as: product receiving, product storage, order processing, packaging and shipment, inventory control, safe handling of hazardous materials, evaluation of transportation modes, customs, dispatch and tracking operations. At the course conclusion students will complete the Certified Logistics Technician assessment based upon MSSC’s industry-defined, nationally validated skill standards. It is strongly recommended that students be at an 8th-grade math and 10th-grade reading level. Textbook required and included in the cost of the class.
Satisfies 29 CFR 1910.178, OSHA's 1998 revised Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training Standard. This course includes both classroom and hands-on training for first-time drivers and individuals needing refresher training. Must be 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license. Forklift experience recommended. Eighth grade reading level preferred. Senior adult and disabled retiree course fee waivers apply. Transcript available.
